Psalm 19:1-4a | Be Still: A Devotional Series.

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.”Psalm 19:1–4a

A night sky, a brilliant sunrise, and the sight of a beach from a sky rise are all wonderful sights, but there’s more to these things than just their beauty. They actively display God’s glory. They point us to something far greater than ourselves. Even though they don’t speak, the Psalmist writes, they still say a lot.

All of creation points to the fact that there is someone greater than ourselves. The sky declares, the heavens declare that God is to be glorified and that He is glorious. This God is not far off either. He’s not like trillions of galaxies out there in space. He’s very close, and we know Him through Jesus. In fact, Jesus is this God of creation.  We know this through another, better way God speaks: Scripture. The skies tell us there is a God, the Bible tells us who it is.

Be encouraged that the God who spoke planets, stars, and galaxies into existence knows you. He has not forgotten you and He will not forget you. He is in total control.
